All of my cuttings have started leafing out, some very little, some a bit and others like these are the most advanced. It's fun to watch them grow.

The leaders are Champaign Fizz, Butterfly, Super Nova, KBS and Guinevere.

Jarie, it looks like you're off to a good start. All look healthy and happy. Good luck with them.

Jarie do you root your cuttings in water before you put them in soil?

Linda and I did a little cutting exchanging today, it was quite fun. Both of us need more brugs like we need a hole in the head, but we do all need hobbies!

Yes, Ruth, all the cuttings were started in water and when they set on those little white nubbies, I popped them in the pots...about a week ago. Most nubbed up in a few days. A couple of them only have pin point sprouts (Mountin Magic, for one) but all look healthy and didn't have any rotting of cuttings. I was really happy about that. Kathy, it is so exciting to watch them grow. I know you'll enjoy your cuttings this winter when it's cold outside.

I think I will leave most of mine in the water all winter, will keep it changed at least ever 2 wks. Last yr I had alphids so bad and they started on the ones I potted first. I had some 4' ones in a 5 gal bucket in a room that wasn't heated and they did lots better and didn't have the alphids, I let them get dry a time or two and they still did good.

Sounds like a plan, Ruth. Actually, where you live it probably would be easier for you to keep them in a bucket for the winter. Keep us posted on how they're doing.

Since I live in a more temperate region, I'm hoping they develop enough to bloom in early spring. We'll see. I may have to move them around alot if the temps dip too low here in the Valley.
