Went back to edit my original post but had no Edit feature so adding this....
Even though your brug resembles Adora, there's really no way to be sure, Ruth. Where did you get it? There was no label? That's too bad it can't be definitely IDed because it's one pretty brug.
Your photo looks just like my Adora. The size of the blooms you are saying match as well. Adora has huge flowers and open very wide. My daughter stuck one of my Adora flowers on her head for a hat and the thing covered the entire top of her head. Unfortunately I couldn't get her to let me run inside to get the camera. I can't tell you wether or not yours is but it does sound like the one I have. Sorry, I wish I could be more help.
If you have an extra cutting of this I would be delighted to have one! I don't know if I have any that you don't have right now, but would pay postage if not! I do have Plumeria seedlings going strong if that might be an option if that would be an interest to you.
That is a gorgeous bloom!!
There wasn't a tag on this cutting when I received it, the lady said it was named but forgot the name. I was an Adora and it looked identical to mine and so I sent a picture to another person that has it and they think it is also.
Thanks everyone, Dott I forgot you had this on your list or I would have asked you first. The bloom on this one sure is larger than any of my others. I love her, DH likes her also.
The Adora on the ABADS site is very pink, Ruth's looks like a blend of soft yellow with touches of pink to me. I'm I seeing the colors on Ruth's accurately? I really don't care what name it goes by, I just love that color combination.

Thanks, Ruth. I had to move a lot of my new cuttings inside this afternoon as the weatherman says we MAY get our first frost tonight. I really don't think we will, but I will sleep better knowing they are protected. MN may be trying to make up for all the scorching, dry days of summer ..LOL. Then we bounce right back into the 70's for the remainder of the week. Guess it's just Fall in North Texas.
The weatherman was right for a change - I am looking at a very light frost this morning (WOW)! I don't think there will be any damage to mature plants, but it definitely means I will be taking cuttings today and tomorrow. I suppose if you have summer for 7 months, you can expect an early winter.
Ruth, can't say enough about the beauty of that brug. Sounds like Dott believes that it's Adora. too for offering cuttings.
Wow a cover of frost this morning. Carrie, good thing you took your cuttings in last night. We are chilly here in the Valley again this morning, second day in a row it's about 60 but supposed to be in the mid 70's later on today. I brought my cuttings in, too, because they looked so cold out there. Will return them to the patio later this morning.

Ruth, that is one beautiful bloom. You live approx. what, 75 miles north of me. I had ice on my windsheild this morning, it was supposed to have been 29, last night. What is your situation, I have never cut mine back this rarly. I remember two years ago on Thanksgiving my brugs, had so many blooms they were bent to the grouind. How did you make it in the bad weather last week? It completely up rooted the huge confederate rose You saw when you came down. I got it in Ga. and have never seen one here with blooms that large. Also all my brugs were covered with buds and blooms and it just ripped most of them up, sagging with weight of all the blooms. All my dwarf citrus are blooming, and with the brugs, and the sweet olive in bloom also, it is unbelievable. It is the first time all have bloomed at the same time. If the gardenia was in bloom, it would be something. Larry
Hello Larry, I had lots of stripped blooms and lost a few limbs on brugs but that is about all the damage we had, sure sorry you had so much damage in your yard.
My confederate rose isn't blooming like it does most yrs but after no rain this summer it is a wonder we have anything left.
Good to hear from you my friend.

Let me add that that is one beautiful bloom! NEXT year I MAY want one, but let me be sure I can get this year's brugs to grow and bloom first!! So far, so good! KEep posting those beautiful pics! Selma
Larry, sorry to read that you had damage during a storm last week. From the communications we've had, your yard has to be gorgeous. You are one master gardner with a big green thumb.
The bush morning glory you sent me is a stunning specimen right now. We've had a couple of cool, dreary, dark days so the blooms last all day. The bees and butterflies LOVE it and to my surprise, I found a walking stick on it the other day. I tried to photograph him but the camera I have doesn't take good closeups...came out just a blur. I've seen him there three days in a row so he must have moved in permanently.
Good to have you with us, Larry. Keep making yourself visible because you have many good ideas to share.
Ruth,
I still think its beautiful even though it doesn't have the yellow. Thanks for sharing a cutting with me.
Jarie,
Linda recently gave me Morning Glory tree seeds, I can't wait to get them going. Also, check your camera for a Macro setting, it should be under the menu. When you want to do a close up, set the camera to Macro. With Autofocus on you should be able to put the camera right up to what you're taking the picture of, when you hear the autofocus beep you can take the picture. That's how I got the close ups of the bees.

Echoing Ruth, thanks, Michele. I really should know that but forget when I'm in a hurry. Was out looking for the little critter awhile ago but couldn't find him. Actually, he's about 2 inches long but so hard to see because he's well camouflaged. Will try again to get him on camera.
Michele, you will love the morning glory bush. Mine is so pretty and always in bloom. Aren't the seeds funny looking? So fuzzy. I have seeds if anyone wants them. Ruth & Debra, I can send some with my postage if you'd like.
Ruth your photo with the fellow in it looks just like my Adora. The flower is so huge that it's amazing when compared to something. I have photos of mine but I just haven't uploaded them to photobucket yet.
Ruth,
My two gorgeous cuttings arrived this afternoon, I put them in water and will put them in a pot tomorrow, Thank you!! I'll send you some pics once they get going.

Ruth, I don't care if it is Adora or not, that is one beautiful looking brug! I was given a cutting earlier this year, now I can't wait for the spring to see if mine is as beautiful as yours. Thanks for sharing!!
My two cents worth...for a suaveolens type brug, this has to be one of the prettiest I've seen. I used to think that Georgenpalais was the prettiest, but I've been swayed. By the way..I think this is the first time I have typed the name of George, the correct way. Had to look it up to do it right, tho. LOL!
I really know very little about this one. I'm not even sure where I got it now. I've had it so long. Finally let it go this year. I'm going to go look up some information now. Be right back.....
Shoot, all I can find is that it is from Herrenhauser Gartens in Germany. No information about the cross was found. It's a suaveolens hybrid.
Well Ruth, judging by the responses, I'd say there are a number of us looking longingly at your wonderfully pretty brug. Maybe next year you'll have cuttings to swap or trade for postage & handling?

Just wrote Ruth a note. Adora came through just fine in a bubble wrap package. With the damp toweling and plastic wrap around it already has little nubbies starting.
Our mail delivery is weird around here. It took the same number of days for her Priority Box to come last week as it did the bubble envelop this week...4 days each. For me Priority is a joke because it almost always take 4-5 days when it's supposed to be 2-3 from anywhere. The cost of shipping is a BIG difference, too, for the same results.
I'm so proud we tried this Jarie, my postmaster said it should be just as good as in a box. She gave me some PM envelopes and told me they would do good also, I sent Carrie's this way will see how it traveled.
Ruth, from this post, I am assuming you did not get my email telling you that I got the cuttings yesterday. They were in great shape, and are safely settled into their water until I get the time to pot them. They are great cuttings, and I do so appreciate it.
Both of my Adoras are now in pots. The nubbies came on very quickly on the nice cuttings that Ruth sent.
I'm glad, too, that we tried the softer bubble packs at regular mail prices. For my area especially, PM seems almost a waste as I stated earlier in this thread. As long as the cuttings are sturdy, not too thick, few in number and only 6-8 inches long, they should do fine sent in bubble envelops. One of my other boxes was sent asking for delivery confirmation. That box was left at my door and no signature was obtained because I wasn't even home when it was delivered so how can they prove that I REALLY did get it???
Jarie, I've had my headaches with Priority Mail too. It IS a joke. I sent Linda a seedling via Priority Mail and it took WEEKS for her to get it. By the time it arrived, it couldn't be saved. I hope you're wrong about delivery confirmation being a joke too, because I just sent Linda a second seedling from the same cross (WITH delivery confirmation this time), and I'd hate to think I'm going to have problems with that one too...
Let's hope you get better results than I did, Kathy, with the delivery confirmation because there's no way the USPO could prove that it was delivered to me because I wasn't there to sign for it....just dropped near my front door. Now no one would probably "steal" my box but that's not the point. You pay for that option but the postal people don't honor it.
Boy, guys, this is making me a little apprehensive as I have never had a problem with Priority (I had to say that, didn't I?). All but 3 of my boxes have gone and been received, so I hope all is well with the last 3.
Kathy-did you get my email?? The package arrived either Fri or Sat and was waiting for me when I got home Sun. The plant was in good condition and I am THRILLED!!!
Delivery confirmation is just that! The Postman scans the package when he delivers it. Unless you request signature on delivery they will just leave it at recepient's door. I have never had problems with that, so far. Just having them lost in the USPS system for weeks as with Kathy's first package! That does happen from time to time
I have heard similar scenarios of UPS and Fedex as well.
If the colors are true, it is certainly a different color from Ruth's. These brugs keep us guessing, don't they? Since I have never had an Adora before, Dott, I have no idea - hope someone can help you. Whatever it is, it is gorgeous.
