Patrick reminded me this morning in his posting that I forgot to add a blurb about the photos I posted a couple of days ago. Sorry, maybe some have found them already.

Lynne & Kathy. It's really refreshing to see CG bouncing back after the torturous summer we all had. Dr. Seuss and other UN are getting into the act, too. Kathy, I could send you some cuttings of CG if you'd like.

Nice, Jarie! I especially like your double hibiscus. I think Carrie should sweet talk you about a cutting of that for her yard.

Pretty, Jarie - very pretty. We may have to look at these over and over for a few months - I am dreading the first killing freeze that turns everything brown.
Luckily, that doesn't happen to you, so you may be the desiginated "picture taker" !!!!

Jarie I just loved your slideshow.I may work on one tonite.
I loved the picture with the butterfly on the zinnia.whats the other plant growing there?some kind of euphorbia?or kalonchoe?I liked the reddish edges.
I've seen one those brown snake like things.I've seen them in Corpus Christi they had a blue stripe down back, but we called them 'skanks'I know thats not their real name(a skank is like a bad slut?I know weird.)They are releated to lizzrds/anoles

I use to have one those double hibiscus when lived in Whitehouse Tx.I sure wished I'd dug that sucker.but then that boatload of plants& pond would have REALLY looked weird...tree to boot.does it get ants on the base of the flowers real bad down there?

Nice CG. mines still doing sad he's a full 16 inches w 9 total leaves.but I visited a neighbor I gave one to & got me a 3 ft trunk to start 4 from.(He looked good there too,but was bloomed out )I like your pale yellow...hows the smell?

I bet me & my camera would be happy down there.I miss your weather.I'm in the other south.

Jarie, do you have a Charles Grimaldi as well as another one you used to say you weren't sure about, but "thought" it might be CG?

Patrick, to answer your question first, it's one and the same. Sorry, I have become accustomed to calling that prolific bloomer CG and I shouldn't without being totally positive. From the list of brugs I received from Nestor White when I first got started a few years ago,(I lost a few back then), it's about the only one it can be......but.........there is NO TAG attached. I know, I know, not a positive without DNA..LOL since there is no tag.

I've sent some cuttings of what I'm calling CG to Shirley so we'll see if they perform for her and see what she thinks next summer. If anyone else would like cuttings, it's one beautiful brugmansia and very easy to grow. If it performs in my yard like last year, my January will be a delight because it was full of yellow/orange trumpets last winter....better than snow. Kathy, if you'd still like a cutting, let me know. Right now the first fall flush is over but I expect it to start over very soon.

Joy, I believe what you are seeing is kolanche. It grows like a weed down here. Also, the scent of the pale yellow/white brug isn't much during the day but heavenly at night, especially on a humid night. That brug has a ton of blooms on it again and it just flushed a couple of weeks ago. Another great performer and easy to grow. I'm not sure about the name of that snake but I think it's pretty common here in south TX and not poisonous.

Patrick, would be glad to send Carrie a cutting of the double pink hibiscus...or anyone else who might want one. It has really taken off this summer. Hot weather didn't seem to bother it much.

Have a great weekend everyone and stay warm.

I have that yellow too. (Thanks, Jarie!)
I can tell you, right next to CG (Thanks, Michele!) it looks the same, grows the same, flowers the same, smells the same, attracts the same mites at the same time, can't cross them (so far)... and I didn't taste either of them... lol. But yeah, I know, without a DNA test... lol! (So how do I do that?)

By the way, Joy, it's "skink" not "skank." LMAO!!!

Jarie, love the reptile pics! I have trouble getting the flash slideshows to work, so I hadn't seen it until today.
