I know a lot of people do not like the whites but I just have to show you this one as she is just slightly different from other blooms. She began blooming this past August. She grew to about 10 foot in the Brug field so I couldn't get a close up look of her. She just looked full and fluffy.
I didn't want her that big in the greenhouse so I cut the top 5 foot out of her and rooted it. When she bloomed again I saw why she was so full in fluffy looking. Her inner skirt had 8 points. I went back and enlarged the first photo's and sure enough...there were 8 points on those first tendrils!
She is now having her first real flush since cutting and rooting the top. She is just stunning! I want to move her into the house and tie red bows all over her....LOL
Oh Bren, she is awesome. What a sight she would be with red bows. If only the blooms would last until Christmas. You did a great job on this one. It will be one I will be looking at when she is available to purchase. I'm one of those that isn't that crazy about whites, but I'm beginning to change my mind. LOL! Very nice. You should be very proud.
Thank you everyone. Wish you all could be in the greenhouse this evening...her fragrance is very nice. I am still trying to decide on how to describe it.
Patrick... I love the french language. It doesn't matter what you say in french...it sounds good...LOL It will be sometimes next year before a name is considerd. I have seen her summer and now fall blooms but will see her through spring to see how she keeps performing and see how well her cuttings do.
Shirley...There may be time for one more round of blooms for Christmas. She is already putting out small buds to follow this flush. Looks like she is going to be a good bloomer.
JT... nice to see you here. For those of you who do not know. JT is the owner of Country Garden Nursery and has some incredible Brugs himself! Take a look at some of his beauties here. http://countrygdn.com/
Brenda, awesome !!!! I really learned to love whites this year - thanks to Cypress Gardens, and like the contrast when mixed in with the other color brugs.
This one is a rare beauty ---- congratulations !!!!
It's a beauty Brenda! I like whites but haven't been impressed with the doubles I've had so far.
We need some good ones and it looks like this may be one. Congrats!!!
Wow, I like her!
Does she do the 8 inner points all the time, so far?
I know you said it'll be awhile before a name is considered, but since you say you like French and described her as fluffy, here's something to add to a list of possibilities, if you like it.
Ange pelucheux
It should translate to fluffy Angel.

Lynne... Most of the blooms have had 8 points on the inner skirts. One of them had 8 on the outter skirt and a few have had the normal 5 points on each skirt. When it first bloomed in August, it only had 4 blooms and all of them were 8 pointers. I hope she holds this trait.
I really like the name suggestions and I have held contest in the past for names. We may have to play that game with some of the new ones next year. I have a name in mind for this one if she proved to be a good "un"!
Jarie... The whites are excellent for seperating color and I wouldn't be without them in the gardens. Cypress Gardens, Temple Goddess and Giant White Elegance were some of my first Brugs and they all still have a home here. You just can't beat a flush from some of these older whites and the scent in the evenings will make your knees buckle...LOL
Jatana... Points are peaks or tendrils on a flower. The normal is 5 on a single bloom. My Suaves and Insignis will occasinally have 6. This is the first time I've seen 8 on one. It can't be just a cool weather thing as she started blooming in August when it was really hot and was even more frilly. The first photo is one from August.
Bren
That is one spectacular white! I hope she does well for you throughout the trial period and will be available soon. I like the whites for separating colors as well. I have a "planting scheme" in place for next spring for the Brugs that will go in the ground. Now that the massive Maple tree is gone I have more sunlight area in which to plant. C'mon Spring!!!
What a beautiful brug, Bren. I personally like the double whites and this one is exceptional...8 points consistently...WOW. Keep us posted on this one.
Just arrived home late last night after being gone since last Wed so trying to get caught up with the posts.
