I was just browsing thru the list of registered brugs on the BGI site...I see Bren has a newly registered lovely white, 'Jerad's Joy'. Very nice, Bren!

It sure is a pretty one. Nice going, Bren. We have needed a good white that isn't a suave, and you sure have helped by hybridizing this one.

Bren, I hope your son gets better quickly, the hospital is no place to be around the holidays! (plus it makes for more stress on mom!). Selma

Thanks everyone. Papa is doing hospital duty today so I came home to take care of some business and saw all of these nice messages.

Jerad's Joy is named in honor and memory of a friend of mine's son whom she lost this past year. He and my son DJ both had TBI's (Traumatic Brain injury)and Patricia (Jerad's mother) and I have corresponded by email for almost 10 years and we even had the opportunity to meet once so this Brug is special to both of us. Patricia had asked me earlier this year if I would consider naming one for Jerad and I did gladly. I had several she could have chose but she loved this pure white.

My son DJ is out of ICU now and feeling much better. I hope he is home by the end of the week. We really appreciate all of the prayers and good thoughts for his recovery.

Bren -

I'm so sorry to hear about DJ. I do hope he comes home soon and gets better fast. Our prayers are with you and your family. It must be so hard on the little guy - so close to the holidays...

I'm sorry, I thought maybe the J in DJ stood for Jerad. Too much information in one thread, maybe. I hope DJ is doing better and I remember when Patricia first mentioned that she had lost her son. So sad. She was one of the first people I sent brug cuttings to...back in the GW days.
