"Sisters, O Sisters..."

An update on all of our current Brug seedlings:

The three largest are NOID white (candida-style) x NOID pink (insignis-style) My first cross. So is the little one on the right, but that one had a rough beginning. The little one on the left is from my second cross, suave white (Sporty) x Insignis Gold.

These seven are from Jarie, CG x Ecuador Pink. We just moved the first five into gallon pots yesterday.

These eight are my own cross, CG x Insignis Gold. The first was planted at the same time as the seeds from Jarie. Only the one germinated so I planted a few more and the other seven popped up.

Lynne... Your seedlings look really good.

Do you still grow Insignis Solid Gold?... If so I would like to beg some fresh pollen from you when you have some available. I culled my ISG this past year never dreaming it would produce a great off spring and I would like to cross it back again to it's youngster.

Bren, is Insignis Gold the same as Insignis Solid Gold?
Almost lost her to the flooding back in August/September, but now we have a couple of her growing again. I'd be happy to send you pollen from her, but I'll need some advice on mailing it. If you could, start with the collecting of it... should I let it dry a day, tap it right into an envelope, put it in a ziplock? Priority or first class? LOL, can you tell, I've never mailed pollen before.

Lynne,
There is only a slight difference in the color so maybe my idea will work.

If you don't have all the tools for pollen collection, that is OK...You can do it my old way. When you look in the bloom and the pollen looks nice and fluffy. Pluck the anthers out with a pair of tweezers. I would then put them on a post it note and set it somewhere to dry for a day or two. You can then put it in one of those tiny ziplock bags or a small envelope of some sort. It's best to send it via first class mail in a bubble envelope so it doesn't get run through those postal meter, sorting machines.

Thanks for any help. This is the flower that has Insignis Solid Gold for the Poppa. It is the one that throws 8 points on the inner skirt most of the time.
