I hope that all is well with our Flordia friends!! I have been trying to get in touch with Cindy, (xomed28), and my e-mails won't go through. We "talked" to each other Christmas morning and now all is quiet. All of you in Flordia, stay safe!!

The tornadoes did not affect Jacksonville but it did hit Lake City, not too far away. Not any serious injuries but several homes destroyed. We did have very high winds here and heavy rain, but today has cleared up and will be very COLD tonite.
Carrie and I have agreed that sping needs to start Jan 1st!!! Everyone in favor please have a talk with MN! 1 week of winter is plenty and no lower than 50 degrees!

I saw the destruction the tornados caused on our news tonight. Thankfully the news also said there were no lives lost which is a miracle since many homes were destroyed.
I hope our FL members were not in the path and did not suffer any damage.

I don't mind the rain, I can deal with the thunder, lightning, and cooler temperatures that have followed, but could someone please tell the wind to BACK OFF!!! A gentle breeze would be good enough.
Well, looking on the bright side, I got a few new cuttings started, although I wasn't really planning on cutting the particular Brugs. Most of the others have neat little curves at the top from growing sideways for a little while.

Agreed, Lynne --- a "gentle breeze" is the ticket. We have a lot of strong winds here quite often, and they do more damage than the heat. Predicting rain for us this Friday, and to that I say, "bring it on"!!!!
Linda and I are in total agreement about the length of time to have winter and the lowest temp -----

I agree with Linda, one week of winter and that's enough, I'm ready for Spring! Luckily, later in the week it supposed to go back up in the 70s, that can't happen soon enough for me.

The wind really came through here and stripped some leaves off some of my brugs but overall all is well, still have some blooms.

I have many broken tips on several of my brugs from the strong winds. They're simply dangling in place and shriveling up. I guess I won't be having any blooms for awhile on those plants. We had tornado warnings a few days ago but no action. Thank goodness Florida had no major destruction.

My thought to be Charles Grimaldi has bushed out beautifully and will probably be in bloom in a few weeks. It's more protected on the east side of the house.

I'm glad to hear that none of you were hit too bad. I'd be perfectly happy if the temps never dipped below 60! I'm definitely in the wrong zone : )

I'm sure glad everyone is okay. It's still no fun cleaning up after storms, even if we were the lucky ones that were spared. MN leaves a mess sometimes, anyway.

South and east of me, Lynne, but we had some strong wind and finally, some measurable rain. There was one death in the little town of Groesbeck. That was the latest when I watched the earlier news. I think the rest of us should be okay.
