Right, Ruth --- I never met a brugmansia I did not like. .... Very pretty, Linda --- hope you are feeling better. Nothing like a beautiful brugmansia bloom to lift the old spirits, right?
Linda

Your Rosenquartz IS very pretty...how can it fail with long tendrils like that?!
As for brugs I don't like, I have to say that the shredded form turns me off. For some reason that looks like a deformity to me & I don't like the looks of it. If the first shredded form had turned up in my garden, I'd have destroyed it as a failure! But then, that's my personal taste.

I agree with Patrick. I'm not fond of the shredded brugs and can't say I really like the sangs either but maybe that's because they don't grow well for most of us. Otherwise, I'm a sucker for all the rest. That's why I have over forty youngsters that I can't wait to show their stuff. I may have to stack them up in the yard, though, for lack of room.
That's a beautiful color and form. I love the pinks. I'm another that doesn't care for the shredded blooms. I got so upset when one of my JY's started putting out what looked like shredded flowers. Thankfully it was only one flush and it went back to normal.
Karyn - my JY does that quite a bit. Someimes they are sorta normal and other times split blooms. The fragrance on these is fantastic tho so I deal with the odd blooms when they occur.
Rosenquartz is surely a vibrant hot pink, Linda...very pretty. I, too, have had many shredded blooms on my Jamaican Yellow so not sure if I'll keep it much longer. Need to make room for the new babies that will be going in the ground soon.
Thanks for the welcome back, Patty. Our cruise was wonderful but I'm happy to be back in my garden even though the weather stinks!!
We had a heavy frost and are below freezing again this morning, but one good thing has come out of this terrible winter ---- it is the "wettest" January ever recorded here in the Dallas area, so our lakes are filling up again. That will certainly be good news during the dog days of summer here. Our wildflowers (which are many) should be beautiful this year - both rain and cold makes them abundant.
Carrie, you will have to take pictures. I love the blue bonnets along the roadways. They don't grow well here, but I can get them to grow. The Indian Paintbrush, I think it is called, is eye catching too. It's soon going to be time to see your brugs in bloom too. Gosh, I'm so anxious for spring.
I will do that, Shirley. The area where I grew up always has such a pretty display of bluebonnets and other wild flowers. Up here, I have to take a pretty long drive to see them in abundance.
I too would love to see pictures of the Blue Bonnets and Indian Paintbrushes! We never had them in the area where I grew up, but beside the road, across the street from my house was always filled in with Phlox during spring and summer. Never figured out what species of phlox, but I remember them fondly.
