First of all, I wanted to say a HUMONGOUS thank you from my Kindergartners for all of you who have voted for us. The children are so excited about the whole idea. They really 'feel' for the butterflies. We do so much science in our classroom and with the lessened emphasis on science in the public schools nowadays (which is a horrid shame considering how this is just one area that REALLY gets kids excited and piques their learning interest) it is just one more thing to make my little ones pumped up about school. It brings such joy to my heart and makes me feel wonderful about coming back into the classroom and especially about teaching Kindergarten! (I had taught elementary school then went on to teach middle school mathematics then left to teach teachers how to teach mathematics before making the switch to Kindergarten...).
If you could just see the JOY in the children's faces when a Monarch or any butterfly ecloses you would know what I am talking about. Today we had snail races and the absolute LOVE for these creatures that you and I probably are just ready to smoosh to smithereens over would make you want to drink an entire bottle of wine! teee-heeee!
Anyhoo...we do have a blog set up to help those who get our little seed packets. I thought I'd share it with you. I am trying to provide as much info as possible on it. It is not quite complete as of yet but I am hoping to make it as easy to read as possible.
