Well I have been Dreading posting this Update! Kinda in the lines of "I Told you So". But there is good News also. Seems I was told to take it easy with bringing my Brugs (that were cuttings) out into the sun slowly. Welllll I didn't listen and It didn't seem like the sun was hurting them ...until day three. Every single leaf on all 14 of my Brugs turned white and yellow and fell off! Yea ..I know...I know!! That was three weeks ago! The good news is ...everyone of them has alot of new growth and shots! I can tell they are all gonna fill out nicely! Thank God....Next year I think I'll listen to the words of wisdom and Tan my Brugs more Carfully!
The one Brug I overwintered in the Basement has done real well. It actually has more leafs then any other Brug! Also my Mandevilla and Fuchsia I overwintered is doing great!
Lynne The Plumeria is still Blooming...it just keep growing new buds and Flowering....YAY!!! It seems to like Western NY. Well until September atleast..LOL
Well I will update again soon so I can share pics and show lynne and Michelle how their cutting have come along....thanks again..Wayne

They are tough little plants, aren't they? I'm glad they are leafing out again for you.

Wayne all my brugs got scorched also and I didn't have them in strong sunlight. They grew back even fuller and the new growth is much hardier. Glad to hear yours are doing well.

Don't feel bad Wayne. I gradually got mine acclimated & when I thought they were doing great - growing new leaves, they lost some older ones - some more than others! They now have a ton of new growth also. Wish I could get a bud soon!

Glad to hear they're doing well, Wayne.
We have a no plants in the house policy here... the first Brugs I tried to bring in for a few cold nights didn't make it through going back out. Most other plants just don't survive being inside with us.

The plant that Plumeria came from is currently 2 short stubs with a couple of tiny branches popping out of each. When I cut it back, I really cut it down to try and make it look a little less like a stick with a few leaves at the top. I have a tall piece of it in a pot in our driveway with a huge flower cluster.

Wayne, how very pretty !!!! Everything looks so green and healthy. How many passiflora's do you have? And do you have Gulf Fritillery butterflies laying eggs all over them????

Thanks everyone for all the love, comments and compliments. Yes I have worked so hard and waited so long for everything to get to this Peak point. This is truly my favorite time of year!

Joy ...I recieved my Plumaria as a cutting with blooms from Lynne. Although the blooms are now gone...the leaf Foliage continues to thrive...I just hope somewhere inside that pot is a nice healthy rootball! She will be wintered in my only south window...and next year I hope she will blooom again!

Linda I have 8 in pots and 3 of them have not yet reached bloom stage. As for the ground I have about 8 (not including 6 Datura) You see over the past summer I have had incidents where either my kids or myself have knocked off a branch from my Brugs. So rather than discarding them...I removed all the leafs, stuck them a clear two liter bottle for about two weeks and then just stuck them in the ground. Most of those Brugs are only 12-14 inches tall. These will get potted September for winter storage in my basement. I have found Brugmansias...the easiest plant for propagation!

Carrie...that is my first and only Passion Flower. I think they are Astounding. I hope to overwinter it somehow....it is still in a pot. Any tip????

I have only three of them, Wayne, two of which are evergreens, and one that dies back each winter, but bounces back in the Spring. If I had more places for them to climb, I would probably have many more of them. The Maypop one that dies back each year is my sacrificial passi for the Gulf Frit Cats --- I relocate them off my other two onto that one until they hatch. I do have a multitude of little orange butterflies this year, as I relocated about 150 of the "cats".
Wayne, check out the zone for the one you have, it may be winter hardy - many of them are.

Wayne I grew a red from seed.I had started it over the winter, then grew in ground.it grew about 15 ft in one season, but did not bloom.I cut back to 2 ft.failed at rooting all the cuttings& it grew again to about 20 ft.I decided to leave it in the ground....and never seen it again. When I HAD wintered it.I had 2 AV at the time so did a terraruim sunk the AV pots, set the passion vine in corner but kept leaves off glass(I bet clear 2 liter would help) stuck a few baby spider plants and that was winter.I didn't have to really water it alot as the cover kept moisture in& used the light that came with the fish tank.I used 2 inches gravel in bottom& a few inches potting mix.I would say no huge temp drops and humidity or keep plant misted.
I'm sure my plumeria has a good root ball.I see bits of root poking out the drain holes.I guess I need to cut mine so it won't look like a stick with leaves.I was reading some the other day(more on growing..not pruneing)A guy in my state grows his in tubs and sinks them in ground. They really grew alot too.I recieved mine as a seedling that was close to a year old.its getting close to its 3rd year I guess.and I must be doing it right. It don't have stretch marks.

I have lots of passiflora in pots. Some cannot withstand temps under 40-50 F so they go into the garage in the winter. My garage has a few windows but no heat which is okay here. I've been overwintering my passies for the last 4 yrs or so- most make it lol.
If you live in a colder climate, you should keep your passies growing over the winter. Some kinds can take more cold than others but if you've got more tropicals types they will need warmth. Use grow lights or a sunny window and keep them from freezing. I also keep them drier than in the growing season when overwintering. You can cut them back by half or one third, before bringing them in. Wash them off real good before they come in for the winter to help reduce pests. They may get the usual spidermites while indoors but misting can help. They may even bloom for you during winter too, which is nice
