Ruth Ann...and all is true. We leave soon and can only imagine how he'll look by the time we see him when we return in October.
Our kids live in a small community northwest of Chicago and a couple of days ago we noticed a neighbor growing triple purple datura and several brugmansia (have no idea why I've never notice them before). Today we stopped to talk to the owner, an elderly man who said he brought his datura seeds from Romania in 1972. He didn't know what brug varieties he has but I suspect something like Frosty Pink or Insignus Pink, a yellow that looks much like Dr. Seuss or CG and a newly aquired Ecuador Pink with the tag on. He says he cuts them back, roots the cuttings during the winter in a crawl space and puts the main plants in pots and stores them in a heated shed. He doesn't have internet or otherwise I'd have in the forum. I told him that I'd bring him some cuttings when we return. Like all of us, he's quite proud of his angel trumpets. That's the first time I've seen them in this area.
