Patrick invited me after reading a few posts of mine on gardenweb. I have a Brug Rosamond that I got as a cutting 5 yr. ago. It is 5 ft. tall and never bloomed, and never made a Y. I was ready to throw in the towel, when several members wrote to me. The same week that I posted that, it formed a Y. I raise a lot of hydrangeas, begonias, geraniums, etc. and start a lot of plants in my Rion greenhouse. I am 67, married over 50 yrs. to a fellow I knew 6 days. I am semi handicapped, but that don't stop me! Our sons are married and have children, so now I garden, both veggies and flowers. Hubby does heirloom tomatoes that keep him busy. One of these days, I plan to try CG brug, and see if I can make that do something. Hope that I learn a lot more about these lovely plants, and their needs.

Darlene, if and when you are ready for a Charles Grimaldi, I'd be happy to share. It is a very rewarding brug, at least for me. Enjoy your gardening and please let us know where you live.
Hi welcome to the forum. I got Rosamond this year. It is about as tall as me now (5'5)and just made its Y. Shhh don't let it hear this, but I saw a few very tiny buds on her, hopefully the wind will not blow them off and our weather stays cooler. Hey, if you want a rooted cutting of Super Nova email me. It isn't very big yet but hey its rooted le_mason@yahoo.com
**Just realized since I noticed buds on several brugs, last night was a full moon!
Hi, Darlene, welcome from North Texas. Where do you live? I know you will find this forum very rewarding in more ways than one --- such wonderful people, and very knowledgeable. Please continue posting so we can learn more about you.
Welcome, Darlene! I'm glad you've decided to join us & enjoy our forum as well as the one at GW. Lots of great folks and a wide range of experience...everyone is great about sharing info and we enjoy chatting & seeing each other's pics.
Carrie, Darlene lives in the Tacoma area, so the Puget Sound area is building up a nice-sized group of members. At one point, each of us probably thought we were the only one in the area growing brugs!

How fun, Patrick, wish I had more members who lived close by. There are quite a few in Texas, but too far apart to get together. That is why it is so nice to keep in touch via this forum.
Agree, Carrie....guess there are too many "wide open space" in our state of TX. I have no one here in the Rio Grande Valley either. That's great for those of you in NW Washington. Enjoy the brug sharing.
Welcome, Darlene. You are lucky to live where you have people around that are growing brugs too. When I first started growing them, I knew of no one growing brugs except the gal that brought me my first one. She was from Wisconsin. Then I found Kyle Courtney, one of the first American hybridizers, who lived about 40 miles from me. I've tried to get people interested in growing them, but I understand it is a lot of work in zone 5 to keep them over the winter. I hope you will see lots of flowers from your brug and also hope you have the chance to try some of the newer brugs too.
Tonight I've been trying to figure out what the color is on Pink Charm. I'm beginning to think that Pink shouldn't have been in the name. You would enjoy a few more, I'm sure.
Hi Darlene,
I think we've "spoken" on the brug forum at GW. You will enjoy the people here. They are incredibly knowledgeable about brugs and more then willing to share their knowledge.

Hi Darlene, and welcome!
If you'd like to be included in our birthday list, please send me an email with your birthdate, month and day, and I'll add your name to the list.
(Same goes for anyone else who hasn't sent theirs yet!)
Do we really still have no birthdays in March or July?
