Thanks for the great welcome!

By now, you know that I live in Tacoma, not far from Patrick. In fact, his name plus his middle name are the same as our oldest son's name. I may not be going over to have meetings with him as I don't drive. I have epilepsy, from child abuse, so when they found out I had epilepsy, they took away the driving privilege. Now, I am used to hubby taking me places, although I am pretty much a home body now. Our weather is starting to cool down now, so time to bring in all of those plants I have. A huge feat, as I have way too many in pots. God blessed me with a green thumb (with certain plants only). I won't post pictures, since our good camera was in my lap when I was in a wheelchair, and it slid off the lap, and hubby, who was pushing me, ran over it. Since then, we decided just to use disposable cameras. My cell phone takes pictures, but they are not super great. Again, thank all of you for your friendly invite, and I know I shall glean a lot of info on this site. BTW, I am not in the wheelchair now, although dr. said I would never walk, and also had a one yr. coma, and was not supposed to come out of it. I forget a lot of stuff, and lost all my math skills though.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing well and are able to enjoy gardening. Dr's are just people and don't know everything. I was in an accident many years ago when I was in my early teens. I spent 4 months in a hospital and another year in rehab confined to a wheelchair. I too was told that I wouldn't walk. Yeah right. I was a competitive swimmer and played softball throughout school. I was also told that because of the accident I would never be able to carry a child. Tell that to my three kids. lol Did you know that they now sell disposable digital cameras? My Mom uses them all the time and the pics are quite good. I think she buys them at Costco or the drug store.

Gardening is so good for the soul, Darlene. I, too, am so glad you find so much enjoyment in it and are able to tend your gardens. I also agree with Karyn about doctors --- they are limited to their medical skills, and cannot take into consideration the will of their patients. Look at what the two of you have accomplished ---- such uplifting stories. Way to go, ladies ----!!!!!!!!!!!!
