Hello everyone,
My name is Melanie, I live at the Jersey shore and I have been bitten by the Brug Bug.......
This is the 1st time I have ever tried to grow Brugs.but, it seems like I am already addicted.
One of your members found me at another site and offered me some of her cuttings, what a wonderful thing she did. I was doing the happy dance all over my kitchen. She has given me alot of great info (including this site)and she has become a great source of information. I hope no one will mind when I begin to ask questions, as I will need alot of help as I begin my journey down Brug road.
Thanks
Melanie
Hi Melanie, I am glad you are here with us! I am relatively new also, my first brug just bloomed the second time, and the fragrance was wonderful. I admire you trying to grow brugs in the cold area of the country, where you get snow. Anyway, welcome, and enjoy the friendship and knowledge available on this site!
Hi Melanie...I'd like to offer my welcome as well.
I think you'll really like the gang here. We're scattered all along the learning path, so there's usually someone who as the answer or has related experiences to share. New members are always welcome...hope you enjoy!

Hey, Melanie --- WELCOME to our addictive world of brugs. Bet you can't grow just one !!!! You will not find a warmer, friendlier bunch than is on this forum. Ask away, and there will certainly be someone ready and willing to give you an answer.
Hi Melanie. Looks like you know Karyn. LOL! It's great to have you here. Hope you enjoy our crew as much as I do. This brug forum is very sharing and caring. Jump right in and have a ball.
Hi Melanie,
Fancy seeing you here ! Just finished reading the email you sent me on Plant Traders!
You'll love it here everyone is so kind and willing to share their knowledge!
Enjoy your self!
Colleen
Hi Melanie, So glad you joined us. I hope the cuttings I sent you do well. I am sure you will get more cuttings on this site. I only have the one that I sent cuttings of, and maybe mine will bloom next yr. I did chop the whole second stem down to the soil. That is how disgusted I was with the brug. I will learn if this was good or bad, thought that the cutting of the second shoot would make it concentrate on making the Y on the main shoot. Maybe it did, since it made a Y right after I cut your cuttings! We shall both learn on this forum.
Darlene
Melanie, so nice that you joined our forum. We have many generous members here with both cuttings and information. Come often and let us know if there's anything you need. I'm happy I was able to share my brugs with you.

Welcome Melanie, from sunny California. You are in so much trouble now. Once bitten by the brug. bug, you are a goner. There are many of us on here that started with just a couple, and are now way in over our heads. I suspect you will be in that catagory before long.
Melanie, WELCOME! I'm so glad to see another NORTHEAST bruggie here! I'm in New MIlford, CT. You are really going to like this forum - there's a lot of great information and wonderful people here...
Hey there you 2 Melanies...maybe we should ask you to modify your names so people are confused about who is who...do you think?
Off the top of my head, I'd suggest either adding the 1rst letter of your last name...like MelanieW....or maybe the 2 letter code for your respective states:

Hi Melanie, and welcome!
It's been a long time since we were at the Jersey shore. We used to go fishing out at Sandy Hook on the weekends, but now it's much too far to drive for a weekend trip, lol.

Lynne, you got that right! I just hope it doesn't take a shoe horn to get all those brugs into winter storage!
Jatana, I was standing on what should be brug island, but it pretty much lost its definition this year. Right now it makes me think of a mangrove swamp.
I still marvel at the size of the leaves on this year's seedlings. These plants take up twice the space I would have expected.
