That's a Creamsickle. The plant that I took that cutting from has been putting out abnormal blooms all summer but the blooms on that cutting have been fine and even holding on for over a week.

Very nice looking blooms! I've had a cutting of Creamsickle in a pot for the past two months. She's doing fine. I'm glad I have something to look forward to. Your blooms make me so envy! Next spring - already wish it were here!
Karyn, how pretty --- I love your passifloras. Mine are in full bloom now, and the Blue Crown (the evergreen) has finally gotten pretty again after the gulf frits ate on it all summer. I still have at least six weeks left, if not longer, before I have to think of putting things away. I really hate having to do this each year - wish I could just throw a protective blanket over them, and wait for Spring.
Karyn, your pictures are fantastic. It is always fun to see what other's grow, and we have quite a few of the same plants. Unfortunatey I have given up most of my tropicals that I had in the greenhouse to make room for more brugs. that I need to overwinter in there. I had about 50 cattalya orchid plants but have given most of those away. If I have to wait more than a couple years for blooms, they are out of here, and I only had about 6 of those orchids that bloomed. I do have about 10 cymbidum orchids that I can grow outside year round here. I also love passiflora's and have P. coral sea's blooming now. I also have Blue Bouquet, but I moved it last Fall and it didn't bloom this year, I think it is getting too much shade now.
I don't know how to put a name without having to post each pic individually and that would take me forever. Is there a way to label them without having to do it one at a time? I don't think I put up a pic of my snail vine this time but I did post a pic of the corkscrew vine. I'm so excited that both produced seeds for the first time this year. I love cattleya and bulbophyllum orchids. I keep the orchids outside when it's warm and have to convince my daughter that it's a good thing to have about 30 orchids in her bedroom over the winter. lol Her room has the perfect temp and exposure for them. I started the toad lilies from seed over the winter and was surprised that they bloomed. They are still in pots and really need to be put in the garden already.

You are correct, I knew it was Vigna caracalla I had and not Snail Vine.
How do you over winter yours? I kept mine semi dormany in the same spot as my Brugs but even then it had to be trimmed a few times to keep it off the Brugs. I was wondering if the swellings on their roots were enough to start it back up form total dormancy.
I keep both the Phaseolus caracalla and the Vigna caracalla going under HID lights during the winter. I do cut them way back to get them inside but they continue growing. The Snail vine usually blooms throughout the winter but not the Corkscrew vine. I cut them back again when I take them out in the spring. I do have to fight insect infestations (mealy bugs and cushiony scale, yuck!) while they are inside. I'd love to allow them to go dormant but I'm afraid that they wouldn't come back and it took such a long time to grow these to flowering size. I don't want to have to start all over again.

when you load your pictures, before going to generate I'll type out the names in post and post the pictures above it afterwards.
I wish it felt like fall.I'm glad no triple digits, but we still get in the 90s,but do get some 60s when a front pushes this way.
My creamsickle has not bloomed yet& I'm still thinking of potting her for the GH....for the sole purpose of blooms, but then i'm glad she's not y'd cause if she bloomed now the flowers would get sandy.she's only about 2 feet.I think she needs more sun.The flowerbed in front of her shades her.
Thanks Karyn. I may unpot it before bringing it in and see how many and how large those nodes are on the roots and then decide if I want to try for total dormancy.
Wow, tons of pretties! What's the name of your Plumeria? I like the pink stripe on it. And the yellow/orange Passion Flower at the bottom is freaky, I don't think I've seen one that color before.
Orchids clean the air, don't they? I know I read that somewhere long ago, they filter out pollution and stuff... Karyn, you could try telling your daughter that she'll have the best air in the house every winter, lol.

The plumeria is a 'Ku'uipo'. I've had it for a few years and this was the first time it's bloomed. I like it and the flower has a nice scent and holds on well. It has developed a seed pod but we'll see if it holds it when I put it in storage. That passi is a Sunburst, a pretty flower but it has a really offensive smell. At least the scent doesn't waft and it's only noticeable if you put your nose to the bloom. Lynne many of my passies have produced quite a bit of fruit including the Sunburst and my crosses if you want seeds. I get blooms the second year but with your longer growing season you might get them much earlier.
