Anyone have any good tips about brugs? Any one bringing their brugs? Anyone still have bloooms? Just wanted to see how everyone else is doing! Its getting cold here in Colorado!

Hi Vanessa,
I got cuttings from Jarie too & a C.G. plant. Same here, waiting for nubs then for roots.I have one NOID brug,it's still outside. I did dig it up and put into a pot,so I could enjoy the blooms from my family room. It didn't look too good during the day for about week,at night it would perk up. Now we've had alot of rain the past 2 days. It looks good! Will have to cut it back soon. I've never done it before, so a little nervous! I can't give you any advice on growing brugs, but alot of others on this forum will!

I am new to brugs too. The ones I got from Jarie are doing well and sprouting new growth. The baby CG has 2 buds on it that have grown a couple inches already and the one I have still blooming outside has about 5 or 6 flowers with just the edges of the skirts sticking out and still pretty green colored. They have been like this all week. Normally at this stage they would open the next day. Must be the cooler temps I am guessing. Its going to warm back up next week so I will leave it outside til at least next weekend and hope to get to see the show. I have never seen more than 2 flowers open at one time yet. I am so happy to be growing these beautiful plants. I went to a Master Gardener plant sale today about an hour from my house and had hoped to at least see some brugs in their greenhouse but they didn't have anything but some white datura. When I inquired about them the lady I spoke with got so excited and asked if I grew them. I guess I'm not the only one who has a hard time finding them in my area. I will donate some of my cuttings to them to propagate that I have more than one of. I really enjoyed the sale and got several other kinds of plants. Gotta share the brug love!

Glad to hear the brugs I sent are doing well for many of you because I enjoy sharing what I love. I hope everyone has tons of blooms next summer. I'm thankful for those who helped me expand my collection last year.

Many of my brugs are still blooming and the plants, overall, look alot better since it's cooled off some.

Jarie

How are the ones doing I sent you? I hope they're doing very well! Especially 'Xena' - as she is my baby!

Mike, I've potted them all. The salmon cuttings nubbed the best while the others lagged a bit but I potted them anyway. Almost all have tiny, new green leaves so it's just a matter of time before they really take off. Thanks again for the trade. Now I'm busy trying to figure out where
I'm going to put all the new ones come Spring.

I am happy to hear that everyone is doing good with their brugs! Jarie and Kristi you guys are awesome sharing the brug love! Theresa I am very happy for you that your transplant went well! A little shock is to be expected when ever transplanting any plant. I can sympathize with ya.. I just replaced all the soil in my tropical hibiscus planter. It is looking a lil gloomy. Hopefully with a lil tlc it will be back on its feet! I just potted the brugs that I had in water last night! Hopefully we will have some strong roots start to grow!! Brugs are very neat... I am so excited to see the blooms! I have only drooled over pics on the internet but never seen any in person! It will be a great delight!

I am just starting out growing them but so many people that see mine or hear me talking about them want one so I don't mind sharing the ones that I get more than one of to root. I love to share plants with other people. Its nice to know the plant is growing all over and making other people as happy as it did me.
