LOL! I don't beautify for my neighbors. We live in the country and all of my flowers are in the back yard where I can enjoy them. They aren't visible from the road. People who stop out love them, but surprisingly enough, it's hard to find people to take big plants.
Shirley, it is difficult to get people to take plants. They look at you as if to say, "what's wrong with it?"!!! Maybe you should seriously consider putting a rather hefty price tag on them, and then they would think they are as special as they are. That is a beautiful brug - and I always enjoy the photos.
I heard today that someone else has this one in the US too, but I'm not sure who it is. So, I can't tell you if it will be available or not. Mine won't be for another year so I can make some crosses with it first. Then I'll think about sharing or selling, maybe. I want others who bought them to sell, to have that chance before they get distributed all over the country for nothing. I'm glad you like my pictures. It's the camera, because I can't hold still long enough for me to take good pictures and take credit for them.
Charleston is gorgeous Shirley. I love the tendrils. I have been seeing alot of whites lately that are really nice May have to add a couple more whites to my scheme of things. for sharing the pictures
She does have some nice Trendils. She looks creamy in the books& other pictures I've seen.
I live in the country too.Not many see mine...more folks online see my garden than real live in person& those who do.....useually leave with a cutting or plant of something. My sons IHFS manager is bring her husband out this weekend. Her plant has bloomed& He loves it...I think more than her He liked the 4pms cause he remembered his mom growing them.I've sent her home with cannas,Salvia a few roses,MOT's,hibiscus,JMg's.
Carrie's been to visit....and didn't even get lost!
Charleston is a pretty brug, tho her blooms are not huge. When I first got my cutting from Germany, I was afraid I would lose her. She didn't want to root for a long time. About a week ago, I took a cutting for a back up in case my plant didn't survive the cold garage. It hasn't even made nubbies yet. This is just my opinion, but to me, most of the European brugs are harder to root, slower to get growing, and much slower to bloom. I have one that has just bloomed this fall for the first time and only about 5 or 6 blooms. I don't know if they are acting this way because of the change in climate or soil. The only one I got that has acted like a US brug, is Rubirosa. It has been a learning experience and a disappointment to have 7 of the cuttings die right at the gitgo. Maybe that is why the remaining brugs are so special to me. I can easily say that growing from seed is a lot easier and less stressful. LOL! Thanks for looking.
Very pretty. Thanks for posting. I love looking at your pictures. I don't know squat about hybridizing and very little about brugs but I know pretty when I see it.
