Hi Mike: What is the name of that lovely Datura showing in your gallery? It is a pretty lite pink and very frilly (double/triple?)
Would like to add her to my garden.
Thanks for sharing the pictures. Gloria

Yes, Mike, Gloria is right, that's a very pretty pink datura. Didn't realize there was a pink. I just received seeds of a triple cream that I'm anxious to try. Also, one called ? Princess...can't quite make out the name so have to contact the person who sent them to me. Anybody have an idea??
Hi Jarie,
Did you receive your seeds from Jim Cheney? He just emailed me, Jim wrote "I found the label
yesterday for a variety whose seeds I was saving. It is pink princess."
Yes, Theresa, Jim's seeds came yesterday. One I couldn't quite make out the name but now I can see that it is Pink Princess. Can't wait to grow that one, too. Is that initially from your yard, Theresa? Soooo pretty!!
I purchased that little datura at one of our small, out-of-the-way local road-side nurseries. It had no buds or blooms on it at the time. The guy got it from a woman locally who trades with him. He said it was a Datura - so I bought it. He had no idea of the color at the time. Yet, he "thought" it was a white variety. So - I have no idea WHAT variety it is after it had bloomed. I thought it might turn white or yellow - but it did not. I ended up with three very small seedpods from her. Maybe - just maybe, 3 or 4 seeds in each pod. lol! I did mulch the mother plant well for the winter. Maybe next year - if all goes well, I'll have plenty of seeds from her to share. I actually think she didn't have time to 'do her thing' over the summer. Each time new buds would start - they'd fall off. Things happen! I've not heard of a peachy/pink datura either. Is there such a thing?? It would be nice!
The pink one is very pretty. I have some new seeds to grow this spring too. I bought my little double yellow and didn't save many seeds. I didn't know at the time it was considered an annual. I am going to try and overwinter the Mom in the garage and a friend gave me a small white one late in the fall so I got a few seeds from that one also. I wonder if you can cross a yellow and a purple? I bet that would be a neat color if so.
Thanks, Mike. Sure hope you have seeds to trade next year. ROTF! New to the Datura World ... are there no pink Dats? Wow, that would be fantastic if you had one!! Regardless, the picture is great and something to dream about during the winter months!

Kristy, I believe if you did successfully cross a yellow and a purple, some of your hybrid seedlings woud be yellow, some purple & maybe some might throw back to whatever the parents have in their gentic backgrounds. Unlike mixing paint colors, you're not likely to get a blend of the 2 colors.
