Has anyone grown this brug or know where to obtain it? I can't get into BGi gallery site to look it up for some reason and abads doesn't list it. I think its an older one. Trying to help a friend locate one. Thanks

Hi Kristy. I'm the Registrar over at ABADS. We don't have it listed because I don't think it's a valid name. My guess is that it is actually 'Grand Marnier' with it's name muddled up a bit.
It's always possible we're wrong though and it is a new cultivar. If you tell me where you saw it, I'll research it for you & get an answer.

I was helping a friend try to locate it. All she told me was it was an older variety not popular anymore. I wrote and asked her if it might be Grand Marnier but haven't heard back from her yet. I don't know if its something she used to grow or heard about it someplace thats why I asked on here I knew if it was an older somebody would know about it unless the name is mucked up, lol.

I talked to her and it was Grand Marnier. Does anyone have a cutting to share with her? If so I will be happy to trade something for it.

Kristy, I just happened to stumble across a mention of Grand Marnier in Monika's book (p.56). There she states that Kurpark Bad Salzschlirf is identical to Grand Marnier, Grazie and Marygold. She goes on to say there is a "real" Grand Marnier (in Germany/Europe I assume) with "smaller flowers & a different leaf surface." It is apparently uncommon to find these days. From the translation into English, I gather that means that any Grand Marnier brugs we run into in the U.S. are likely to be KBS.

I received a cutting of one from Michelle in Florida several years back, but it did not root for me.

Very interesting Patrick. Thank you. I don't know if Brenda used to grow it and missed it or heard about it. I found a cutting on ebay for her so I will let her know to watch it. Thanks.
