Propagating Culebra with orchid moss...

Has anybody tried the orchid moss method of rooting Culebra cuttings? Or any other successful methods for that matter? I'm going to be replacing my Culebra this spring, & haven't had any success @ cloning them yet.

Is that an air-layering technique? I think that's what I'd try if I had a brug noted for being difficult to root.

I didn't find any air-layering info in the Preissels' book, but there is info on pages 47-48 of Monika's book.

I have successfully rooted culebra by air layering several times.
No other method has worked as well for me, so I stick with it. I use sphagnum moss (dried, compressed, and re-moistened) and rootone. Also I completely girdle the phloem below the portion to be rooted.

I've only tried rooting two or three cuttings, but it wasn't a problem. I used regular potting soil, but kept it only barely moist. Too much moisture and the cuttings would rot, was what I was told years ago.
