Axel Rose is blooming

Hard for you to see the green on green variegation in the leaves but this shows you well how the blooms mimic the parent plant Maya. Axel Rose is a sport of Maya.

Last year my Maya produced a sport that the leaves look the same as on Axel Rose. I will pollinate the flowers on both plants back and forth many times and see if I can get pods. This likely has been tried unsuccessfully many times because there is a theory that same looking sports form the same mother plants are likely the same from one Maya to another. If this is true, the sport I got last year would also be genetically the same as Axel Rose and no pods should develop on either trial plant.

Beautiful range of colors, RA...a wonderful flush. I can see the similarities to Maya. My Maya/Sunset remains one of my favorite brugs. Let us know what results you get with the attempted pollination - I love experiments like that.
