Does anyone know where I can get some of these seeds? I would love to give them a try. Do they come true from seed like sanguinea or is it a surprise like with regular brug seeds? Please let me know cause I would love to see some purple blooms from a brug not just from datura. Thanks

Hi Jason,
No promises, but I may have some x flava seeds available around May or so. They will be arborea x sanguinea, a F1 or 1st generation x flava cross (somebody correct me if I have my lingo wrong, please). It really depends on what the cross is if they will come "true to seed" or not. Vulc x vulc will be vulc. X flavas are a little more complicated, x flavas are still defined (as far as I know...) as any cross between arborea & sanguinea or vice versa. I'm not sure how vulc crosses are defined... But all 3 species & the x flavas are compatible, so it can get a little complicated. I believe some of the nomenclature has recently been redefined on ABADS, but I'm not sure, maybe someone else here knows more...

So is B. Flava just a cross between sanguinea and arborea? I ordered seeds of both of these. If so how do you know if the cross took because I read they are both self fertile? I've seen so many pics of oranges and purples, its weird to think to get those you would have to cross a white and yellow/red brugs to get those. I learn something new every day.

Jason, you might want to check this out, but I believe that neither sangs nor arboreas will perform decently in hot climates...it's been awhile since I did any reading on this, but I suspect that the vulcanicolas are in the same category on that score.
