Large Brug plant

I 'shared' this photo recently with Patrick, and thought I would add it to the forum for others to enjoy, until their own are blooming!
This plant is growing by the river in the town, we live near.

BTW, I am interested in all the hints & tips to produce bigger and better blooms in my own garden!

Nice picture, Patricia. All we have growing along the roads and rivers here, is weeds. It would be so nice to have plants like that growing in the wild here, but we get so dry in the summers that they would be toast before they ever bloomed.

It is very dry/hot here in Guanacaste from Jan-May, and then just hot for the rest of the year. We experience very strong winds, too, which is not good for unprotected plants.
I am always 'finding' plants by the roadway and bringing them home, and then try and find what thy are. Thank goodness for websites that ID them!Some work in a garden setting, and some don't.
