It's looking like a good year here in the northeast. Buds on Inca Gold, Angels summer dream, KBS, Pink Beauty, Jean Pasco, Jim E. noid and yes Little Moon. Also buds on a couple of other unknown noids. Largest bud is 3 inches. so I have a ways to go....but it is going to smell pretty nice around here. This is the first summer in several years that I have no travel plans, I will see some of my perennials bloom that I have not seen bloom in years. Peonies are in flull bloom right now, they smell really nice.

Isn't it nice that you get to see all the spring blooms this year Sally!

Yes it is, I enjoyed my time in Europe last year, but my garden is my favorite place to be. I am having trouble with photobucket, I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I can get to it from the link at the bottom of the page, but am having trouble posting images.

I'm enjoying peonies in my corner of the country, too. I like having different varieties, which give me staggered blooms. The earliest, short dark red ones, are now losing their petals. Others are in bud, yet to open. I have several that were given to me at a plant swap, yet to bloom for the first time. But I know there are various pink shades represented. I will try to feed them a little better this year...maybe I'll get blooms next year! Most flowers are late this year...the few bearded iris I still have all popped their first flowers open this morning.

I'm almost always home during the summer...a short season here & the one most of us wait MONTHS to experience. Summer in the PNW is magnificent (well, it CAN be, if the weather does what it's supposed to!). My gardening hasn't joined the 21rst Century, so caring for the place in the summer is labor intensive...too much & too complicated to ask anyone else to care for if I were to go away. Good thing I'm totally happy hanging out in my own backyard.

I love hanging in my back yard as well, and that is a good thing because the summer routine has already started for me. I am not quite through wiht my projects, but they will have to take a back seat to watering and fertilizing (most all of one day is spent doing this). Besides the beautiful blooms in my garden, we are having our first mess of squash and green beans from my veggie garden today. Okay, it should have been at an earlier date, but remember, my first garden froze and I had to start all over. I also have little cukes that will be ready in a few days, but my tomatoes are very slow to develop this season. Going to work on that today ...........
I have the most beautiful pink brug in full bloom right now, and the name was lost when it was removed from the plant room. I am reasonably certain it came from you last year, Patrick, but for the life of me, cannot remember what it is. I really hate having to call it a noid because it has a great bloom. [linked image]

Carrie, if it came from me, I'm pretty sure I can ID it once it is blooming. There haven't been many pinks I've given you during the last couple of year.
