Codrina, I really enjoyed looking at your Brugmansia pictures, and am impressed with your double orange HG--- you actually got it to bloom!

I also liked seeing the photos of your beautiful home.

Was that your wedding cake?

Hello Codrina...welcome to our little forum. You have a beautiful start to your brugmansia collection. I am SO impressed with your lavender brug, 'Marienchen-cautata'. Do you feel the color is correctly represented in the photo? It is amazing!

I wish you great success with the completion of your home. I know you are anxious to get your gardens going...I am sure they will be wonderful.

Again, nice to have you join us.

Hello from Canada and welcome.
Photobucket

You seem to be doing well with your 'blank canvas' of your yard ( starting from an empty space). I noticed the staking on your plants, be sure the ties don't get too tight on the trunks as they grow larger around with their growing of the plant.
Your English is excellent and both you and your husband will find that working in the garden will erase the strain and stress of your longs days in medicine. I am a Registered nurse and can speak from experience. [linked image]

Re: Hello

Hi Codrina, the brugs you said you'd like to get seeds for are hybrids. Seeds from them will not give you duplicates of the mother plants & may look nothing like them. To get a New Orleans Lady, for example, you would need a cutting from that plant. Most cultivars cannot self-pollinate, so pollen from a different cultivar is required. The resulting seeds will produce plants that blend the genes from both parents, along with genes from THEIR family backgrounds.

New Orleans Lady is currently my favorite brug in my collection. I have a Painted Lady that spent most of last year growing (quite tall!) and I should see it bloom this year. I had a Dorothea, but in my cool climate, the color wasn't special and I gave the plant away.

So many beautiful brugs...so little space!

Seedlings

May 19 2010, 11:47 PM

All my brugs are from cuttings....that's true...except Red Spot who is baby now,and is from seedlings...I'm waiting for the blooms....
If in autumn you have some cuttings from what I wish,I can make exchanges with my cuttings....
Patrik....Sorry for so many Questions...I'm a small [linked image] beginner....who try to learn...
