Well, I do think we need to plan ahead! I am sure that someone, somewhere, has some brug blooming, starting to bloom, or something exciting happening! I have mine out of the basement, and am starting my yearly war on slugs and snails. And also praying to the brug gods to please, please, let more than one or two of my brugs bloom this year!
I was so hoping the Mountin Magic first blooms would open yesterday so that I could say I had blooms in April in 2012, but alas, only half opened. Does that count??? Anyway, she has about twenty buds that will be opening this week with the heat........so, I am on my way.
Well, it is in full color today, so maybe if I count it's being partially opened yesterday, I can squeak by with a bloom in April..............what do you think???
At the rate the posts are entering, it will be the Fourth before anyone posts again. The heat is beginning to set in down here and the brugs are loving it .....the nights are still cool enough, but soon our lows will be lower than your highs, Selma. Then the real work begins of keeping them going. My dalilies are loving it though...........so pretty this season as we had good rain earlier.
We are cooler today than yesterday when we hit 95..................I just hope the triple digits hold off for another few weeks...............I have buds on Jessie's Angel, Dr. Seuss and Eternity...............they will be happier if it doesn't get TOO hot.
I'll do my best, Bob..............we are forecast for more tonight into tomorrow, and then temps back in the sixties for lows and eighties for highs..............my kind of weather.
Well, good for you, Bob...............makes everything stand up and take notice. I actually got to mow today, and I really needed to..............that is one thing lightening will do for the grass............it grows overnight..grin.
That is wonderful, Selma ..............I have had flushes on four of mine, and others are budding. Hopefully, I will have some good flushes by the end of this month.
Well, it was so dead on this group, I figured we might have a good conversation by the 4th! It worked! And we are supposed to have a sunny day on the 4th! (unusual, it usually rains).
Several more buds on my brug, can't wait! Selma

I have several flushing at this time and it smells so good when I go out in the evening or early morning. Patrick's "Jessie's Angel" is my best bloomer as an early one, but I need to get her in a new location as the blooms are not lasting long in this heat. And my dearly beloved Dr. Seuss never lets me down and he just laughs at the Texas sun and heat.
I am glad you are getting blooms, Selma............how about you, Bob.............any blooms yet????
