This is what I woke up to this morning..............

And as pretty as it was, I am glad to see it melting BEFORE I have to go out to feed the donkeys.

Snow

January 16 2013, 11:33 PM

Hi Carrie, beautiful! Even the red bird looks cold! I wish we would get something! It is cold, 25-40 range, and clear (which is why it is so cold), so no rain, no snow, no clouds. Very boring, and cold. And the air gets stagnant, so the powers that be call for a burn ban, and we heat with wood. At least, we got a new insert, so we can burn more than most. Selma [linked image]

Oh dear, Selma, bet the "powers that be" are warm. Is there a pareticular reason why you cannot heat with wood???

Oh, when the particulate matter gets high in the atmosphere, the gov says you can't burn inside or outside, unless it is a "certified" wood stove, and sometimes, if it is bad enough, they don't even want those burned, unless it is your only source of heat. (ie, you don't heat with gas, electric, or?). [linked image]

We have "burn bans" here in Texas, but they refer only to the outside, and only during drought conditions. It seems strange that in a place as humid as Seattle, you would need this sort of regulation, but I suppose there must be a reason.............sorry, Selma !!!

No, I just check to see if anyone is posting, what have your temps been doing? We finally got rain, so we can legally burn again. The brugs in the basement are getting leaves, can't wait until I can get them outside again, but it is too cold (30's) to let them outside. Selma [linked image]
