Thanks ladies...
Everyday I hope to see new butterflies grace our gardens with their presence. It's just starting to pick-up here with butterfly visitors. Today we had 5 Red Admirals, 2 Monarchs, 3 Cabbage Whites, a Eastern Tailed-Blue, a Labrador Sulphur, a possible Orange Alfalfa (white form) Sulphur, Cloudless Sulphur, and a Question Mark. A few I'll post pics of later...time to make dinner now.
Enjoy your weekend!

A friend of mine who has a place in southern Ohio just sent me some pics of JHs that he took this month. A few of the pics were of JHs laying eggs. I think is the best one.
I wish JHs got to central Ohio. The way the green on their wings shimmers is way cool.
Since the JH pic I posted is now gracing the forum home page, I'll let you all know the picture comes courtesy of Jim and Jennifer Suchy. Jennifer spotted it and Jim took the pic.
Nice photo of a pretty little butterfly. I'm not sure which hairstreak I see here, but they are quite small. Sometimes I miss spotting them because of their size.
It is not so much which, there are a lot of species, check out the list for your area and you will begin to see the problem. At least they aren't as bad as skippers.
