Hi, I recently bought my lovely pony, Obershade Wondering Star, born in Jan 02, his sire is Buckland Dragonslayer, and his dam is Obershade Gypsy Rose, but if anybody has any information on the rest of his family I would be grateful.
Yes Obershade Wondering Star is on the DVD of Forest run stallions of 2004-2005. He is black with a white star, he was gelded in 2005, I have info of one of his babies, Biggles. Who is also a stunning pony. Will try and post a photo, but not very clever with computers!
we will be proud when she comes home! last i heard she was going to be caught on Sunday, weaned and home with us this Saturday ... hope they managed to catch her lol

Obershade Ponies

Hi Sam
I love the photos, Tia is gorgous, how big is she? What is her temperment like? Her dad is very laid back, his stable name is Kai, and he is like a teddy bear, very cuddly and gentle. He is 14hh and I ride him along with my children. He is one of the most loved up ponies in the world.
I should have said that Biggles' owner posts on here too sometimes, as NFNutter.

hi
tia is only a year old and is about 13hh now hope she gets to 14hh as would like to turn her into a carriage pony.
tia is also really laid back she follows u round like a dog ive had the clippers on her already and shes only been off the forest about 7 months she wears rugs already she really doesnt mind what you do with her i have taught how to lunge already learning the basics like walk to halt and back to walk then up to trot and have also long reined her..
wot else is kai like do you have any pics of him i know tia looks more like her mum. xx
Sam, it's really not a good idea to lunge a yearling - it puts too much strain on their joints.

Hi Sam,
You are certainly doing a lot with Tia, but like Judy says be careful with her joints, she is still developing and her bones are not strong yet. But I admire your enthusiasm.
Kai came off the forest last year, he was gelded and broken in, (poor lad) must have been a shock! I bought him shortly after that.
I have lunged him, and he is very keen to please, I also walk him like a dog, because I think its gives him confidence in me, and he learns not to be frightened of things, but most of all I love just hacking out on him.
He has a thick dense coat, and is being clipped tomorrow, I would love to put a photo of him on here, will ask my son to help me!
I am going to the sales on 22nd Nov, never been before.
Jane xx

i have only lunged tia a couple of times to teach her the basics and have not done anymore so dont worry everyone i know it puts strain on their joints but i didnt want a yearling to learn it can walk all over me like im a piece of dirt she really respects me. xx
your horse obershade wandering star is the sire of pony i brought her almost a year ago and she is very laid back like the sound of her father she is very pretty little bay and is 13.3 at the moment she will be 3 in may i will try and send some pictures. if you want to have a look?

Hi Sarah,
I would love to see some pictures of your pony, if you are able to put them on the computer, I am still trying to put them on myself of Obershade Wandering Star.
hi i have 2 ponies by Obershade Wandering Star - would LOVE some photos of him for my files!!
I have Bevekada Biggles who's proving to win alot inhand & hopefully do some Pictons on this year. He's very well grown.
I also have Applejack Crackerjack, also by Obershade Wandering star. he's part bred due to mummy being unregistered, which is a good job because he's going to go overheight i think!!
see my pics in my post in the NF section!

Hi NF Nutter,
If you are who I think you are, I'm looking for another big Forester for Lexi to jump so you can always bring him up the road to Ballards Ash to join Joe!!!
Still got him, I can't bear to let him go but its such a waste as he is too good to be stood in a field.
He won his first ever Picton last year and hasn't really been out since.
Lexi took him to a two phase jumping competition and nothing fazed him, he was so good but he really is a show pony and Lexi won't do showing!!!
She is spending all her time with Izzy and Joe. Joe is really coming along well and is jumping 1.10 under saddle now.

My NF Beaulieu Spritzer is by Obershade Highland Fling. He was owned by the stallion syndicate but was sadly hit by a car and killed a few years back.
Hi Jane, am so glad to hear you have Obershade Wandering star - I fell in love with him when he went through BRS as three yr old, and was hoping one day to find out who owned him.
I would have been desperate to have a foal by him with my mare ( who is the spitting image)- but have just wept to read that he has been gelded
I was hanging onto hope he was still entire - Dreams! never mind!
I have a photo of him if your not good with computers!

And my girl:
PS if you ever want to do pairs........
Also we have bred three ponies by Obershade Skylark, two are NF, one PB NF, all are 2yrs old now.

Lav, would you please send me that photo of Wandering Star too? Jane said she'd send me some photos but I think she's forgotten (or can't get them on the computer).
Thank you for your message and photos, I must admit, I felt very sad too that he had been gelded! He was gelded before I bought him.
The photos are lovely, he does look like your mare, I too would have loved a foal by him, I am busy setting up a business but when it is established (and Ive got some money) I would love to buy one of his offspring.
He stands at 14.1hh now, and is 6years old. He has a very shaggy coat at the moment, and is cuddled regularly. I love to ride him, as well as my two children. He is very willing to please, and a quick learner.
You are welcome to come and see him, perhaps we should have a get together of him and his babies????
Hi Jane that sounds a good idea!
He sounds like a lovely pony and a real gentleman.
He is also featured briefly on the Forest Stallions DVD which you can purchase off the NFPPG site. ( I also own a copy!!)
It would be lovely to see some current photos of him when you work out how to put them up here - or on judy's new website!

Hi LavenderBlue
Thanks for that, yes I have been in touch with the Publicity Group, who told me that he was on the DVD, so I bought it, they also sent me a photo of him when he was two years old.
I notice from his papers that one of his grand sires was called Lavender Blue, are you any thing to do with his breeders?
His sire Buckland Dragonslayer is a beautiful pony, there are some wonderful photots of him on the website.
I saw Biggles advertised recently, who was sired by Obershade Wandering Star, he is the image of him. Same confirmation but no star.
Hi, i had one of his offspring. she is called Green Cottage Leading lady.
Going to be a big girl (14.2)very nice temperment and really willing to learn. Loved to jump aswell!

His photos look fab on your website! He stands at 14hh if you wanted to add that to the information. Thanks for doing that.
I have just bought two more ponies, Aldermoor Just William and Blackwell Mirabelle, William is a two year old, Ive just had him gelded, and Mirabelle is a yearling, so Kai (Obershade Wondering Star) has some buddies now.
Two new ponies, you lucky girl!! I saw their pics on your facebook - I looked the other day to see if there were any new photos of Kai - but I wasn't sure if they were your ponies
