Nice shot, Peter . We used to see these when we lived in a different area of Costa Rica, but haven't seen any for a long time.

He has a variety of calls but one I heard today is a lot like one of the US Cuckoos.

Well I´m pretty sure he doesn´t eat any squirrels so it might be his habit of hopping along branches through the trees. Just a guess but quite sure about the squirrel consumption.
