Piping Plover

This is an endangered species and among hundreds of Sanderlings I could only find a handful of these little guys:-(

Beautiful photos! So sad what we are doing to these little guys with our greedy destruction of their habitat even if it's unintentional, we know better.We should stop development in the long run it hurts us too.

The biggest problem with this bird is loss of habitat. It nests on beaches and there are very few left where they are not constantly disturbed. I believe things are getting better as I see more beach areas off limits to public and some attempts to protect nests from predators, mainly foxes.
