Masked Tityra

These Masked tityras are very uncommon visitors but when I do see them they usually in the company of the Keel Billed toucans.

Indeed! I agree with Peter.

There are so many striking and colorful bids down there we never see in the US. You guys really have such wonderful photo opportunities. Can you tell us if this is male or female?

Sorry, I should have stated that this a male. The female is not quite so 'eye catching' as in 'white', but she has 'brown hood' and is browner on the wings.
The photo below was taken in the rain and a very overcast day. Yes, OK, I am making excuses......

This is silly, but looking at this fascinating male bird, I keep thinking the beak looks like a candy corn. Must be the season -- happy fall!
