I went for a fall drive last week and found the dead tree around the corner with it's summer/fall occupants. The Cormorants are always in this tree preening and sunning themselves. As I drove back towards the Willow Beach wharf I noticed a few hundred of these guys just about 100 feet off shore. Something must have spooked them and they took off and headed out further. It really was neat to see them all lift just up off the water and skim their wings along as they flew.
