We were threatened with light snow, and for a change the weatherman was right. The birds and squirrels are very busy today. Over by the Great Lakes many people saw 2 feet of the white stuff.

Thanks,Ruth. Hopefully it won't be a winter of heavy snow and the occasional -20 degrees days.

Two snowy owls have been seen in the area. A bit early for them, but they are here. Now I will go looking for them.

Thankyou,Alice. I guess we live with whatever we get. It is winter, and I have a nice new fireplace insert which I plan to sit near on the colder days (with a book in hand).

Hi Nancy!! The birds always look so brilliant and bright against the snow and I always notice the birds and squirrels a little crazier as well!!

We've had snow 2 days this week and have around 4 inches. We got off lucky. To the west of Lake Simcoe, they were hit by over a foot of that nasty white stuff!![linked image]

On a birding note I spotted a Mature Bald Eagle down at the lake today!![linked image]

Lorena,I'm not sorry that snow missed us. We'll pay later. The real way to enjoy snow is to go cross country skiing to see the bird and animal footprints. Unfortunately my aging joints don't allow me to do that any more. [linked image]
