Does anyone know if Bob Sargent is banding in Ft. Morgan, AL this week. He was scheduled to, but the weather has been wild. Is there a website I can check before driving down next weekend. It is a 4 hour drive, so I would hate to get there and find everyone gone.

Gayla,

I got an email on ALBirds. Bob reported excellent banding and over 1000 birds banded in the past two days despite the weather. HBSG will be there all next week.

If you come down, try to make a stop on Dauphin Island. The birding has been terrific there the last couple of days. You can ferry over from Ft. Gaines to Ft. Morgan and will actually make the trip much quicker than driving the distance to Ft. Morgan.

Here is the website: http://www.hummingbirdsplus.org/

Here is the email I received on ALBirds@yahoo.com:
"Hey Guys
Birding and banding is awesome
We have banded 1000 birds in two days!!!!!!! Great birding and very few
birders here. Rain has not been a major problem.

Best bird was a Yellow-crowned Night Heron late today. Nothing rare so far.

Bob, Martha and the crew."

Have fun! The banding is such a wonderful experience!
