Pam, I love your pictures! I just noticed a fledgling red-breasted woodpecker in my yard yesterday too. I was so thrilled to see it! I have a little downy, too.

I've been wanting to put out nest boxes for some of the songbirds, but with so many fledglings of different species around I've been thinking they have found plenty of good places already. I'll have to decide whether I want to do something different next spring.

Great shots Pam!!! I have lots of juvie Red-bellieds, Blue Jays, Grackles and of course Starlings. I agree that one is a juvie Starling.

Pam I think Mourning Doves breeding season is the longest(from May until August)which could end up being as many as 5 broods in a single season! ...I feel certain that you should be hearing fledglings pretty soon! Thanks Ruth, I have a pair that lways try to nest in the rain gutter. I don't think they,ve ever had a sucessful nesting there, but they still try! NOT the brightest bird in the animal kingdom...
