Pileateds are out of the nest.

This year we have three female fledglings coming to the yard,with the two parents sometimes there are five of the big woodpeckers here at one time.

How cute!! A couple of weeks ago I was at the veterinarian with my rabbit and the Vet took me to the back room to show me a male pileated who was going to have surgery on his wing. He was hit by a truck (he's okay) He looked so small close up.
