One of the local males making it's rounds in our gardens today...
I was wondering what was happening to the white blooms on the Liatris...lol
I added this plant to our garden for the butterflies because of it's nectar. Silly me didn't think it was another source of seeds for the finches too...[linked image]

Very pretty Susan Louise! Those goldfinches love their seeds. I love your cone flower and Blazing star what unusual looking colors!

Hello Sarah,

Thank you...[linked image]
Whenever I saw Liatris Blazingstar, it would always be the purple variety in pics online and in garden and butterfly books. It was just by chance I saw a white variety at our local nursery. The Double Pink Coneflower is becoming quite common. I think it was a new variety a couple of years ago. It doesn't get as tall as most varieties of coneflowers which reach 3'+...only grows to about 2' in height.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend! [linked image]

Congats on picture of the day Susan Louise! I love goldfinch--just bought a larger feeder for them. I had one of the small feeders in both the front and back yards. Just bought a 32" feeder for the backyard. Hoping to see lots of them at a time as you do! Your pictures you posted earlier with all of them on the same feeder inspired me.
