Still playing with the camera trying to figure it out. This pretty boy was on an island. I was taking pictures of a tree that I hope to photograph in each of the four seasons. He came along and I was more interested in him than the tree. I am learning to shoot in RAW. I am including the original and the tweaked one. I think I like the original one best.

I'm just learning, so be gentle. : )

I think I like the first one as well. Nice shot! I think your bird looks more at home than the one who visited my yard recently. I was sitting with camera in hand waiting for a hummingbird when this guy hopped on my fence and proceeded to tightrope along the perimeter of my back yard eating my green anoles. I had to scramble to take the teleconverter off to fit him in the frame.

Very nice work here Gayla, I like the intense concentration and setting for this guy... I am sure not any kind of expert but I see you converted from RAW to jpg with DPP, what are you using to complete the post processing work(i.e. Photoshop, etc?)

I think it is just the software that comes with Canon. My Photoshop is old enought that it doesn't handle RAW. I think it is edition 4. I have heard that there are patches I can download to make it usuable with RAW. It might be easier to just buy a newer edition. Maybe Santa is listening.
