There is alot of disscussion over lye and no lye relaxers. I have read that no lye relaxers cause a calcium build up and dry hair out. Others say lye is better and contains more conditioning agent.
Please tell me your opinion and what has worked best for your hair type.
What brand do you use?

here is some advice, how about not using any relaxer at all! truth is, lye or no lye, relaxing your hair causes severe damage to it that gets worse over time. i suggest that you think about letting your hair grow out naturally. my hair is natural, in fact, ive never relaxed my hair. there are a lot of lies out there about how natural hair is hard to take care of, this is a lie in my opinion. i like my hair the way it is, its very curly, but easy to care for. all it needs is to be kept clean and treated gentle. i do have to use a moisterizer because it does tend to get dry. youll like your hair so much if it is natural and you know how to take care of it. show off your proud natural beauty.

It is true....relaxing does break down your hair and makes it susceptible to more damage than natural hair but with the correct, UNBIASED knowledge, you can achieve tremendous length with relaxed hair....I've seen it, it's all about knowledge baby and you're not showing that you have any. I've read numerous post in here and it seems you always have something negative to say......please get a clue ........
