I really want to get a wave nouveau soon. However, I have a straight perm. Can I put a body wave, like wave nouveau, on a straight perm? Or do I have to let the perm grow out? Plese help... Thank you.

DON'T DO IT!!!

I've had a wave for over 15 years. I know for a fact that you can't put a wave nouveau over a relaxer. You hair won't be abel to handle it.

I cut a relaxer out of my hair. In preparation, I spent several weeks repairing and conditioning it. Once I got the wave, my hair grew like crazy. My hair grows quickly, but never like this! I had to get a retouch every 3-4 weeks for the first year.

So don't be concerned about regrowing yout hair length. It will happen. You should be prepared to absorb the cost of constant retouches for several months until your hair growth slows down.

I PUT A WAVE NOUEAU ON MY MOTHER NATURAL HAIR, AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL. HER HAIR IS GROWING LIKE CRAZY AND IT'S BEEN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS.

My hair is currently past my shoulders. I have a perm. I use the new oil motions on my hair. I know you said not to put a wave nouveau over a straight perm. I went from a jheri curl to a perm after several weeks of deep conditioning and letting the curl grow out a bit. What if I tried that? I would really hate to have to get my hair cut. Also I live in Florida (an hour from Tallahassee/ 1 1/2 from Jacksonville and 20 mins from Valdosta Georgia)- Madison Florida (sometimes it's on a map and sometimes it's not) Where could I possibly go to get a wave nouveau.

I want you to know what your info is the best info I have seen so far online. I have a perm and was so worried about losing my length, and I actually had beauticians telling me that it was worth the risk in order to keep all my hair! Now I know that the nouveau will grow my hair back out. I love the perm, my hair is long- but thin and very easily broken. I'm ready for a change!

Some girl told me that you could wash your hair with vinegar and an egg and that would take the perm out of your hair, but I'm a little skeptical. Also, I don't want to cut all my hair off because my head is not the right shape to have hair that short. Isn't there another way to get the perm out of your hair and get a wave noveau?????

You must either cut your hair so ther4e is no relaxer or grow it out naturally. Don't be fooled by "home remedies" to get rid of a perm. It will cause u to lose all your hair!
