Hi ...I wanted to know the benefits of a setting lotion ...what is it good for....do I really need a setting lotion to rollerset my natural unrelaxed hair(can u rollerset unrelaxed hair at all)Is a setting lotion also a Leave -in conditioner? If I rolleset my hair, do I have to use a seperate leave-in along with a heat protectant and a setting lotion?
Also: what should I use on my natural unrelaxed "about" shoulder length hair to sleek it back so it looks like it's relaxed und not freezy?
I heard that black folks should avoid products containing alcohol with alcohol; what can I use on my hair to make it humidity resistant?....(I live in Miami now and it's hot most of the time,so when I'll be starting to press my hair, I don't want it to get all frizzy looking each time I get outdoors.)
Well, about setting lotion, I personally use to use it alot. When my hair was permed, and in it's natural state. My hair is natural now. I use to use it style my hair, because I have naturally curly hair. It seemed to help me control my frizzies, and hold a hair style. But recently, I just discovered that I get the most out of my curls if I don't comb my hair when I get out of the shower. If I don't wash my hair everyday I condition it everyday in the shower. I put my leave-in conditioner in, and let it air dry. As far as roller setting natural hair, I wouldn't dare try it, because I know the humidity would fluff my hair up. I only flat-plate my hair in the winter time, because I sweat alot (especially in my head). I found some really good flat-plates. They don't tear up your hair, because they are made out of cyramic. They straighten really good! They also cost me $125.00. It think they are alot neater/less oilier than pressing hair.
