Hey Ima help you. First off you cannot get waves in a day or overnight. It takes lots and lots of brushing. When I first started waves it took me 2 and a half weeks to see any results, and a further 1 month to get my hair how I wanted it with 360 waves.
You did good buying the wave S-curl wave activator gel, but where u went wrong was buyin the texturizing kit. NEVER USE A KIT NO MATTER HOW MAGICAL AND QUICK THEY MAY SEEM!!! I cannot stress those words more!
You may have some results with a kit, but in the end it does so much more damage to your hair than good. Getting 360s take time, and hard work. Lazy people cannot get waves. You need to brush.
Here's a simple guide to getting waves:
First you need these five things:
A medium or hard brush
Some kind of wave gel or pomade
Some kind of moisturizer for your hair
A durag or wavecap
And most importantly.. the courage to brush and not give up.
Ok now that you have the supplies here are the steps:
1. Wash your hair and rub it in the direction of the where you want the waves to form. The top should be forward, the sides down and the back down.
2. Don't dry your hair with a towel. Brush it for about 1-3 minutes.
3. Apply some kind of moisturerizer. I like Luster's Pink lotion,
4. Apply your wave gel.
5. Brush your hair for 7-10 minutes. Remembering top forward, sides go down, and back goes down.
6. Durag or wavecap it for 30 min or overnight.
If you keep that process up you will have waves in about 2-3 weeks. Have patience and persistance. And remember... BRUSH BRUSH BRUSH. Wave gel and durags are not the most important. Brushing is the key. No brushing = No waves.
Also there are a couple sites around for wavers...
Here's a wave forum that I often post in. People like you always come in and ask for help. We help them. If you have any questions about waves.. this is the place to ask them. I also suggest that you look through the many pages of advice there. They know me around there as seaTown.

Here's a group of 'wavers' that have made a site. They all came from the hair talk forums and we call the the dreamteam. You can find more info about them, see pics of their waves, and read there guide to getting waves.

I really hoped this helped you. Throw out your kits and brush. Be patient. The waves will come. If you have anymore questions you can ask them here or on the hair talk forums.
