hey ya`ll.. im a 14 year old girl& ive been tryin to get my hair to grow out for a long time. does anyone have any tips to share on how their hair grew? my mom relaxed my hair for the first time when i wuz about 5 or 6, and i have a breakage spot in tha middle of my head that's ALOT shorter than the other sections of hair, its about 1/2 to 1 inch long, & the other parts are taking forever to grow! i also wanted to get microbraids during the summer that would last me until school started, but some girls said that if you leave them in too long they would tear your hair out. can someone give me some info on micros.. how long to leave them in.. etc.? thanks alot. =) ~timly

hey,i think wearing microbraids is not as good as u might think.i would not do so if i were u.i am wearing braids now to let my hair grow out nicely but not micro.and yes,i have the same problems like u.there is huge breakage spot in the middle of my head too.and i have no idea where it is coming from.
i would recommand u to wear braids so ur hair will not be that stressed but at the same time make sure that they are not micro!!!! check out nassabs or nasabbs/ hair tips and u will see what is said about micro braids. good luck!!!!!!

Great tip to grow hair

From what you said I will assume that you have a relaxer right now. I personally think that overprocessing or not caring for chemically treated hair (even colored) will lead to PROBLEMS!!! I do agree that braids will help you grow your hair, but if your hair is already damaged it will not correct any problems already started. I would suggest getting rid of the problem hair then add braids and give your hair some TLC.

I would say that if you are working with healthy hair and you don't let the braider braid to tight you can get micro braids. Remember that the edges of your hair are the most delicate and get your hair healthy first before spending ALOT of your hard earned money.

I am currently natural and find a lot of tips on nappturality.com. I am not a die hard natural person. I believe that great hair is healthy hair no matter the texture or length.
