Slippy you cheating bastard...IR ing a goalie that is still being dressed as the backup!!!

I have been stuck with "useless" Jussi Markaanen for a month, with no "legal" way of getting rid of him.

Brodeur, Turco and Fernandez have been getting sat "rested" every other game. But you have made numerous comments I can't do anything until they are on the "official IR".

But then after your Emery played on April 10th they announced that after 21 games straight they were "resting" him. On the 11th Emery was "rested" but was still dressed as the back up and on the offical roster sheet. So you went and put him on "your IR" on the 12th and signed Mason. On the 13th Emery was again "rested" but still dressed as the backup and on the official roster. Then on the 15th Emery played as the starter, also on the 15th as we all know Mason got credited with a goal. So of course you phoned and broke the bad news how your goalie just got 50 points winning the series for you.

Its too bad that something so high profile happened when you were just trying to STEAL 4 points, that nobody would notice. But 54 points...well I noticed. And guess what..."I PROTEST"

Why harp about these rules all the time if they are only meant for everybody but you. There is no way Emery was ever on any IR let alone your "official" IR. They played 4 games in 5 days and offically announced they were resting him as the "backup" for 2 games but he still got dressed and was on the active roster for every game.

Some evidence

April 18 2006, 5:01 PM

Here's the Sens entire injury list for the year:
http://www2.ottawasenators.com/eng/Stats/injuries.cfm

No mention of Emery missing any games through injury. And if Emery was not on the IR there's obviously a bad transaction there. Hell, I had Sean Burke play like three games in the first two months because Grahame was the starter. It would have been nice to IR him for another goalie, but that was the risk I took.

I'm not suggesting anything unethical happened - maybe Shawn thought he heard Emery was going on IR - but if he's healthy, dressed and playing there was never actually a need to put him on the IR.

At the next rules meeting, I move that if a player goes for a week on the IR in the MJHL when he's actually playing or dressed in the NHL, he's automatically dropped from a guy's MJHL roster. A week is plenty of time to figure out how to adjust your roster.

I'll also move that we score our own games as more than a few have gone under review. That IMO will get guys paying more attention.

Emery was hurt

April 18 2006, 5:25 PM

When I placed him on the IR and that never came into question as his injury was reported on tsn. He was on the website that we use for IR as well. Those are the standards and I more than met them.

Sorry but you are lying...the cbc player pages record all comments ever made on IR page

April 19 2006, 11:24 AM

Even your example about Spezza being on the list earlier in the year as day-to-day before he ever missed a game.

Apparently this is true but there is still a record that they said that comment on Spezza's player page.

Emery's player page, no comments, because none were made.

For you to say it was on there and the president to vouch for you......

Are you really wanting to vouch for this Lucas?????

Seeing as how you are so eager to call everyone a cheat

April 19 2006, 4:15 PM

every single time you post and suggest conspiracies larger than the US Gov't I will gladly investigate farther. I have sent an email to the Ottawa Senators for clarification. I hoping to get a response. This will then end all the bitching and whining from the weaker opponent. Regardless of what happened you still have lost. I understand that is hard to grasp.

The bottom line is if a player has a reported injury we have to act. You can try to read into it whatever you want to. I DID NOT WANT TO LOSE MY BEST GOALIE. I DID NOT KNOW MASON WAS GOING TO SCORE A GOAL. I had to make a decision about what to do when I heard he had a hip injury. Which you have stated. You told me on the phone that he had started 22 games straight and he had needed a rest and then ended with and his hip was bothering him. I don't know what they are going to do on my end. I have to guess. I made a move on the fact that he had a bum hip and I had to decide what to do. I had to choose between Morrison or Mason or do nothing at all and hope Emery plays.

You say well he dressed in the game. Guess what I am not a mind reader. I read he is hurt I make a move on that. that is the best I can do and by your own admission you say he had a "sore" hip so even you were aware he had a nagging injury. I had to make the decision and it could have very well went bad for me as well. What if it was Emery that played and was credited with a goal. I doubt very much you would be whining about that then, right?

There is no conspiracy here. It was reported that he had a hip injury. I have to decide at that point what to do. I can't wait to see if they play him in that game. Then it is too late. My hands would have been tied at that point. I am sorry it didn't work out good for your team but to get on here and call me a liar and cheat is bull$hit. That is simply not the case whether you like it or not. I did what I had to do.

As I told you last night on the phone as well I could really care less. You are beating a dead horse. It bothers me not if you won or I won. I didn't expect to be in it at the end anyway. I was rebuilding this season and was very pleased to just get a little recognition by making the finals. I didn't trade all I had for a run I just wanted to build a solid young team to compete with for the next few seasons and I have done that. So you guys decide and let me know but Jon you can stop with the cry baby bull$hit now. Just score the games both ways and let me know.

Last time I will be reading this board from this point until closer to the draft.

Have a great summer all.

Next season will be better organized and will flow much better I am sure.

I see that whole blurb said nothing about him being on the cbc injury page,

April 19 2006, 6:02 PM

Distancing yourself from that statement now I guess.

Also pretty sure I wasn't calling everyone a cheat, just one specific person.

The one person that made the illegal move and then made up a lie that it had been on the cbc injury list to legitimize it.

I have to agree that players have to be looked after

April 18 2006, 5:32 PM

If a player spends time on the IR and he is indeed healthy then a time limit could be made so that the move be done backwards or outright released.

Something like that would be good.

OIC

April 18 2006, 5:39 PM

Know I get what you are talking about. Hmmm
When he was place on the IR he was on the IR that we use. He was listed as day to day. I have a right then to place him on the IR. That is what I did. That simple. I spoke with Lucas about it as well and he knew as well that he had a hip injury. No conspiracy here. He was in fact hurt and was to be out. I am not on the Ottawa payroll. I can only go by what is on the site we use. IT was also posted on TSN that he was hurt and unable to practice.

You can protest all you want but I acted accordingly. I was going to pick up Morrison but Ottawa was playing so ****ty I said **** it. Like I knew he was going to score a goal.

Either way going into game 4 I am leading the series 2 games to one.

I have scored the games and I am leading 2 games to 1. Priort to the start of game 4.
I will be scoring the rest. I made no move for Emery thinking I had already won the cup with the goal as that would have been a 3 games to 1 victory.

As far as the protest goes.... that doesn't suprise. It always has to be a conspirace when you lose..... Doesn't it???
LOL

Get your faithful assistant to come up with some scores...

April 18 2006, 10:35 PM

Make sure he has you winning Game 4 without Masons points.

Then we won't have anything to worry about.

I am sure MB can mess it up at least that bad.

By my count in the first two I had.

39 in game 1
33 +2 =35 in game 2

Your personal assistant has posted my scores as
19 in game 1
31 in game 2

So I am sure he can get you the win in game 4 even without Masons points.

Maybe I could of IR'd Turco

April 18 2006, 11:08 PM

The Dallas Morning News reports Marty Turco missed Saturday's game against the Wild due to a minor injury. "It's precautionary," Turco said, declining to be specific. "I'm good enough that I could back up."
(Updated 04/16/2006).

If only this would have made the "official" list but then vanished. And got posted after he sat on the bench the first game that I happened to watch, but then said they were resting him on the bench a second game, then I'd of known to IR him like he was hurt and not dressing.

This is even a prediction...and the other news report said minor injury.

April 18 2006, 11:15 PM

Johan Hedberg got the start in his absence. He is expected to return for Monday's game at Detroit, although Tuesday's game at Columbus is unlikely.
(Updated 04/16/2006).

This is good ****...its even an intermittent and predictable injury, some may refer to as rest, but **** if he doesn't have to miss any games, then why isn't this making the "official" list.
