Had a few sweep issues with my 59 Marlin, it could be a few things...just to save you a few hassles Ill share what I found. One was a bent staff, very easy to replace if you have another, just slide the copper hold down to the side..turn the watch over and it should drop right out. The gears may not be meshing correctly..in that case that replacement may work too. The other one could be that the sweep is interfering with the minute hand..I had all three issues on the same watch. (this involves some delicate "adjustment" of the second hand) I finally got frustrated enough to just swap the whole movement! Now the little sucker works! |
