Response to Antique or vintage or misunderstood

I looked up vintage on Google Translate and asked for the Italian word. It is annata...anno + ata. anno is year . Much the same in latin.

Vintage is a year refference. Well at least by definiton. is it always used this way or understood this way? Nope!
