Found this inexpensive alarm system $26 + $12 postage (to Aus.)On the Bay.

Photobucket

The alarm is very easy to set up "0" on the key pad to arm (30 sec delay), & a 4 digit pass code to disarm( 10 sec delay).
It has an inbuilt siren which is mutable so it doesn't sound when activated, but the good part is it can dial 3 different phone no's in sequence to notify you of an intrusion with a 6 sec message ie. " There is an intruder in the house" or whatever you record!{Needs to be connected to a phone line & comes with a line splitter)

I bought 2 of these units not expecting them to be much good, but was really surprised at how effective they are. Took about 5 mins to set up & now on entry to to either of the 2 rooms where they are installed (when armed) I get a call on my mobile about 25 secs after they are triggered, if my phone isn't on or is unanswered then my wife gets a call on her mobile if her phone is off then my neighbor (by arrangement) gets the call .

I do have a complete alarm system on my house but discontinued the monitoring service due to the exorbitant monthly fees. These little units are excellent & are going to save me a bundle.
If anyone is interested in buying one, email me & I'll send you the link or "item no" to the BIN auction on the bay.
