Stem's out, movement's stuck

Response to Rusty stem... how to get it loose

OK, so the stem's out. Part out anyway; it is a 2-pc and the outers off. The inner is still in place along; the winding gear is frozen. I ended up using WD40 sprayed into a small container and dabbing it in with a small screwdriver. That was enough to break loose the stem.

Bigger issue now is that the movement is stuck in the case. There appear to be two screws that hold the movement... they're removed. One had rust... I expect rust is holding the movement in place now. I've put some oil around the circumference and tried prying up a bit at the plates where they meet at the screws (there's a small relief here that appears to be in place for just this reason.) Won't budge, though. Any ideas on what to try next?

Full disclosure; this is a 60s-70s Waltham with a French 17J movement. While the rust issue is generic to all watches, this is starting to look (to me) like more of an issue with just this model. Any help appreciated!
