My mom had the same trouble with all wind up watches, she had to carry a watch in her purse instead. once she wore them, they would stop after a day or two and never work again. once she tried gluing felt to the watch back that was on her skin and that let the watch work for a couple more days before it completely stopped. She (and I) are also very allergic to all kinds of jewelry, even 24 karat gold irritates me.
